Welcome to the Florence, Alabama, CBS Website
Community Bible Study is an inter-denominational study of God's Word. The ministry is local and global in scope. Our class, in Florence, is comprised of women of all ages, from all walks of life, and whose Bible knowledge spans from minimal to advanced.
We also offer a robust NextGen children’s program for children from birth to 18 years old.
Class participants receive a course book with weekly home study questions and commentaries. Each Wednesday, we gather in the sanctuary for a brief opening. We then move to assigned rooms for small group discussion of the week's study questions with your Core group. The day concludes with a wrap-up lesson taught by the Teaching Director or Associate Teaching Director.
We also offer an online group for women who are unable to attend in person. They receive a book but watch teachings online via a link emailed to them each week. Space is very limited.
Come and see what happens in people's lives when they discover God through the study of His Word, the Bible.
Our class meets weekly during the school year on Wednesday mornings from 9:45 – 12:00.

We will begin the year with a six week study in Job. The book of Job addresses a millennia-old question: Why does a good God allow suffering? After Job, we spent the next twenty-four weeks in the book of Genesis. Although Genesis is an ancient book, it speaks to some of the biggest questions we have today: Is there a God? If so, what is He like? Why is there evil in the world? Why are we here, and where can we find purpose and hope? In this course, which covers the first 22 chapters of Genesis, participants will see that God created a beautiful world and gave people a noble calling in His creation. It explains how our world was fractured by human rebellion and presents the beginnings of God’s plan to put everything back together.
