Community Bible Study

Come see what happens in people’s lives when they discover God through the study of His Word, the Bible. Each class member receives a course book with a commentary and home study questions. Each week, you’ll participate in a brief opening, a core group discussion of the questions in the study for that week, and a wrap-up lesson taught by the Teaching Director at the end.

Currently Studying: Joshua, Colossians, 1 and 2 Peter, James

We will begin our study this year with Joshua. The book of Joshua picks up where Deuteronomy leaves off. After leading the Israelites out of Egypt and through 40 years of wanderings in the wilderness, Moses died. But God remained faithful to His promise. He appointed Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, where they would at last find rest in a place of their own.

Next is Colossians, a letter written to combat error in the church. Paul pointed the believers at Colossae to Jesus as the Head of His body, the church. Paul also told the Colossian believers that they had fullness in Christ. The questions in this course are thought provoking and challenging.

The epistle James, the third study this year, is one of the most practical books in the Bible. This course’s lessons encourage each class member to lead a more consistent, caring Christian life and to explore the practical application of faith in family and society.

We conclude this year's study with the two letters found in 1 and 2 Peter.  The apostle Peter offered encouragement to followers of Christ who were living as exiles and being persecuted for their faith. These books exhort believers to hope and godly living. They teach about godly relationships and warn about false teachers. They point to Jesus as our example in suffering and faith, and remind us that true security can be found only in God.

Next Gen Children & Youth Ministry

Through a variety of activities such as Bible teaching, Scripture memory work, crafts, music, games and other activities, we seek to provide a nurturing environment where children can learn about Jesus' wonderful love for them. We also come alongside parents as they teach and train their children to live out God’s truths in their lives. We welcome your children to experience the love of Jesus through the loving servants in our CBS Children's Ministry.
