Welcome to the Florence, Alabama, CBS Website

Our class is comprised of women of all ages, from all walks of life, and whose Bible knowledge spans from none to advanced. We also offer a robust NextGen children’s program for children from birth to 18 years old.

Come, see what happens in people’s lives when they discover God through the study of His Word, the Bible. Class participants receive a course book with a commentary and home study questions. Each week, you will participate in a brief opening, a core group discussion of the questions in the study for that week, and a wrap-up lesson taught by the Teaching Director at the end.

CBS is a participation ministry, books are available for members only. This curriculum may not be sold or resold. It is available for the exclusive use of registered active participants in Community Bible Study.

Our class meets weekly during the school year on Wednesday mornings from 9:45 – 12:00.

You may register online at florenceal.cbsclass.org, or start the process now by clicking on the REGISTER button above. If you prefer, in-person registration will be held August 6th from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Woodmont Baptist Church, 2001 Darby Drive, Florence.

Registration fees: Adult $35 - Children $10

Currently Studying: Psalms

The book of Psalms has served as the hymnbook and prayerbook of God’s people from ancient times and on into the present. Known as the Psalter, this collection of Holy Spirit-inspired poetry captures the highs and lows of life. The Psalms are powerful prayers, guiding us into honest communication with God. They validate our doubts, passions, fears, and longings and show us how to draw near to God in our struggles. This Bible study organizes the Psalms thematically, making it easier to grasp their main ideas and apply them to your own conversations with God.

Next Gen Ministry

Through a variety of activities such as Bible teaching, Scripture memory work, crafts, music, games and other activities, we seek to provide a nurturing environment where children can learn about Jesus' wonderful love for them. We also come alongside parents as they teach and train their children to live out God’s truths in their lives. We welcome your children to experience the love of Jesus through the loving servants in our CBS Children's Ministry.
